Neema has a broad, extensive experience and successful track record in championing reforms and development policies for improved investment enabling the environment for the agricultural, mining and oil & gas, health and tech sectors to mention a few. She is currently a Member of Parliament with prioritized agendas in nutrition, community health and digital inclusion. Subsequently, in Parliament, she has managed to establish three initiatives aligned to her personal priority areas: MP Champions for Food Safety, MP Champions for Global Health and MP Champions for Digital Rights. At Africa level, her personal ambition is to mobilize her colleagues, African Parliamentarians to be at the centre of development in nutrition, global health (impacts community health), and tech development.
Alongside her role as a Parliamentarian, she is also the Founder of two NGOs; Agri Thamani focused on adding value to ending malnutrition in Tanzania; and Omuka Hub focused on digital inclusion in peripheral regions, digital health, open data, digital rights, digital advocacy and internet safety (with special focus on online gender based violence on women in politics).
Internationally, she is a Member of the International Parliamentary Network on Education (IPNED); and the UNITE – Global Parliamentarians Network to End Infectious Diseases. She is also currently serving as the Co-Chair of Global Parliamentary Group to Combat Neglected Tropical Diseases; and WSIS Gender Trendsetter for Advancing Digital Gender Inclusion.
